Japan's multinational automaker Honda is about to launch its popular sedan car City New Generation in the Indian market.  The domestic auto industry is severely affected by the outbreak of the epidemic spread by infection. The new Honda City focuses on cabin space, in-car comfort, latest technology and performance. Here are the 5 big things that make Honda City 2020 New Generation special. Honda Cars India Limited has confirmed that the all-new Honda City 2020 car will officially launch on 15 July. The fifth-generation sedan car was to be launched earlier this year but due to the challenges related to the epidemic, its launch date had to be pushed forward. Honda is manufacturing its popular sedan car at the Greater Noida plant in the city. The Japanese carmaker has already started booking the Honda City 2020. This car can be booked through the company's website for a token amount of just Rs 5,000. To book this sedan car at a Honda car dealership, you will have to pay a token amount of about Rs 21,000. According to Honda, the new city has been made lighter and more secure than before. Many changes will also be seen in the look, design, features and engine of the new car. Many features have been given in this car for the first time.

Features of New Honda City

The Honda City 2020  look is much newer than the current model. There will be a lot of change in the front look of the car. The headlight in the new car is longer than before and air intakes like fighter-jets are mirrored at the doors. The European look given in the new Honda City will also be seen in the rear of the car. The look of the new city is not as sporty as before. The size of the new car has become larger than before. The new city has increased in length by 113mm and width by 53mm as compared to the current model. The wheelbase of the car is the same as the current model. The platform used in the new Jazz is also used in the new Honda City.

Talking about the interior of the new Honda City 2020 car, the new car has a dual-tone interior and 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel. Talking about the features found in the car, it has features such as electric sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen the infotainment system and next-generation Honda Connect Telematics Control Unit. Honda City 2020 will be the first car in the country to feature Alexa remote capability. It will also be the first car in India with Alexa remote that you can speak and command. And this car is also the first time that Honda's app-based connectivity technology, Honda Connect, has been given which can share the details of the car with anyone.

Talking about the safety features, the new Honda City 2020 car will get safety features like 6-airbags, vehicle handling assist with vehicle stability control, tire the pressure monitoring system, lane watch camera.

Design

 The design and look of the New Generation Honda City 2020 have become quite sporty than before. Also, the new city is bigger than before and has more cabin space. The new Honda City 2020 is the highest in its segment with a length of 4549 mm and a width of 1748 mm. The car is designed to provide maximum safety with its ASEAN N-CAP 5 star rating equivalent body.

 The all-new Honda City 2020 is equipped with a Next Generation Honda Connect technology with TCU (Telematics Control Unit), offering over 32 connected features. Through this, information such as the status of the car, whether the doors are locked from a distant location, auto crash notifications and emergency assistance, vehicle tracking if stolen, security alerts, geo-fence alerts can be obtained.

 Interior

 The interior of the car is designed with high contrast and high quality. The car is designed for luxury with upholstered leather upholstery and contemporary seat design, center armrest and door trims with soft pads, rear AC ventilation with improved airflow and rear sunshade. The new Honda City 2020 offers best-in-class nee-room and legroom, improved rear seat holder room, better visibility and top-class trunk capacity of 506 liters.

Engine and Power of New Honda City 2020


The new Honda City 2020 car has been given the company's all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine. It is a new 1,498cc petrol engine that generates 121hp of power and 150Nm of torque. Whereas this car previously had a 1,497cc engine, which generates the power of 119hp and torque of 145Nm. The new Honda City 2020 car will get a CVT gearbox, but it will be more advanced than before. The new city can be launched in 3 variants - V, VX and ZX. This new technology has been introduced with VTC. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed CVT. This engine gets 17.8 km / l in manual transmission and 18.4 km / l with CVT.

Along with this, 1.5 liter diesel engine will continue to be found in the new city, which generates the power of 100hp. According to the report, the option of diesel-automatic variants will not be available in the new city.

While the diesel variants get a 1.du5 liter i-DTEC diesel engine with BS6 fuel emission standards. This engine generates 100 PS of power at 3600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm. It has a 6-speed manual transmission. This engine gives a mileage of 24.1 kilometers per liter.

Price of New Honda City BS6

Luxury and comfort has been specially taken care of in the new Honda City 2020 car as compared to the earlier version. No official announcement has been made about car prices yet. But the ex-showroom price of the car can start from Rs. 10.4 lakhs. At the same time, the ex-showroom price of the top variants of the new city can go up to Rs 14.8 lakh.

Honda plans to sell the fourth generation (existing) version of Honda City as well as the fifth generation of the car to give its customers more buying options.
